The ICDE objective is to bring together researchers and practitioners in the field of development economics and to provide a dynamic platform for discussing the latest research and challenges facing developing countries.
We welcome both empirical and theoretical contributions. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: agriculture, climate change, energy policies, environmental issues, conflict, digitalisation and digital transition, economic history, employment, firm performance, economic growth, health, education, international trade, migration, monetary policy, population dynamics, gender, norms and culture, intra-household decisions, poverty, social protection, inequality, corruption, risk, insurance, taxation, vulnerability, governance, and institutions.
The conference will feature the launch of the European Development Economics Group (EDEG).
EDEG is a collaborative initiative bringing together development economics groups across different European countries. Each year, EDEG will organise a rotating conference, hosted in a different European country, with a local team taking the lead on organising the event. This year, AFEDEV is coordinating the launch event.
